justin wood was born in 1977 in berkeley, california in a house with no floor. he was raised in a school bus, chicken coop and in in the heart of the silicon valley.
lured to los angeles where he graduated from art center college of design in 2001 with a b.a. in illustration, he has been illustrating, painting and merging together disparate materials since. his primary influences are music, clean air and dirt, tales of technological discord and non-space.
his compositions project concepts inspired by the turn of the century industrial revolution and question the worth of the the human essence within the empirical world of today.
he has shown in los angeles, san francisco, portland, berlin and is kept busy by commercial work for clients including sony, weiden + kennedy tokyo, esquire magazine, entertainment weekly, and outside magazine, among others.
